Weekly Grub: 5 Things To Eat And Drink In Singapore This Week

It’s high August, but we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to summer. Celebrate the season’s last with Preludio‘s new summer menu, or refresh yourself on a hot afternoon with a floral high tea at Marina Mandarin. Tipplers are also in luck this week – there’s a new wine destination at The Fullerton to check out, plus free-flow bubbly over at Summerlong.

Fresh Summer Menu at Preludio

For these sultry summer days, Preludio is refreshing its menu with seasonal ingredients. Get a whiff of arctic cool with Deadliest Catch, a dish of Alaskan King Crab sweetened with avocado mousse and coconut jelly. Make It Pop offers a twist on foie gras with a glaze of coffee kombucha, passionfruit spheres, and smoked olive oil powder. And for the cheese course, indulge in the seasonal goat’s cheese Mistralou, known for its full-bodied floral flavors.

Preludio’s summer creations are available for lunch in the 7-course Chef’s Selection (S$98++) or 4-course Executive Set (S$58++). Evening diners can opt for a 6-course (S$188++) or 8-course dinner (S$238++).

Bacardi Launches Premium Aged Rums

It’s a rum time for Singapore’s classy partiers with the launch of Bacardi’s Premium Portfolio. Two of the three premium aged rums – each made from high-quality Fiji and Mexico molasses and matured under the Caribbean sun – are new, including the Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez (S$127). As the name suggests, this dark rum has been barrel-aged for ten years, and its luxurious notes of caramelized vanilla and oak might just convert a whisky drinker. Sip the Bacardi Reserva Ocho (S$110) for warm notes of apricot and nutmeg, or savor aromatic cloves and honey with the Bacardi Añejo Cuatro (S$78), that’s also great in a cocktail.

BACARDÍ premium rums will be available at cocktail bars islandwide, and at Habitat by Honestbee (both online and in-store) from 19 August 2019 onwards.
