Florida’s unwavering alternative rock outfit is back on our sunny shores for their second gig after 2012’s performance and ready to set the stage alight with the energetic performances we’ve come to expect of them! Full of fun and seemingly boundless with verve, these guys know how to pump a crowd up. Trust us, any band that has an electric violin is pretty darn awesome.

MAAD Pyjamas

The organisers of MAAD Pyjamas have been a champion of our burgeoning local creative scene, and they’re having the last market of the year this Friday. With more than 90 homegrown designers and artists at their Christmas themed pop-up, this is one market to support with your purchasing power. Also check out “Portraits After Dark”, where the public can have their portraits drawn by members of the Organisation of Illustrators Council (register here to have your portrait done!).

MAAD Pyjamas will let you shop till you drop on 12 December, 5pm-12am, at the Red Dot Design Museum. For more information, please visit their Facebook Page here

As one of the kingpins of his genre, Paul Oakenfold has rolled into town. With Attica as his stage, and the DJ console as his weapon of choice, this legend of fist pumping beats will, for the first time, collaborate with Google+ and Youtube to create an experience like no other. Bioreactive waistbands will be handed out to the crowd to track real-time movement and temperature, making this a groundbreaking digital experience that enhances the enjoyment of dancing. Also, being a part of this extraordinary experiment is something worth telling your grandchildren when they too, start listening to electronic dance music.

Paul Oakenfold’s electronic soundwaves will hit you on 11th December from 10pm to 5am at Attica. For more information and tickets, please see here.

ZoukOut 2014

This helluva festival continues to break barriers, year after year, without ever failing to gather people of all nationalities to party as one.
