For your dining pleasure, we’ve come up with a list of 12 excellent restaurants on the finer side of life, that offer the best value set lunches you’ll find in Singapore. Before you read on, do note that value here is relative to what you’d pay on a Friday night out!
One of Singapore’s newest steakhouses, Wolfgang arrives straight from New York with its famous Wolfgang Experience – a staple at every outlet around the globe. The four-course lunch (from $50++) features hand-picked compilation of their signature dishes, starting with the Beverly Hill Chopped Salad and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail to its perpetually popular dry-aged Rib Eye Steak or Fresh Catch of the Day for your entrée.

Modern Chinese dining takes on new grounds with the opening of Duxton Hill’s Xin Divine. With a unique brand of progressive cuisine that combines traditional Chinese flavours with European culinary techniques and three chefs that specialise in Sichuan, Cantonese, and French food, their three-course Executive Lunch Menu starts at just $28++. Highlights include Chilean Seabass with Chinese-style Caponta in Spicy Sauce and Parma Ham XO Fried Rice with Crab.

Cheek by Jowl
Sri Lanka-born Chef Rishi Naleendra leads this one-Michelin-starred restaurant, where he brings flavoursome Modern Australian food to the fore. And it is in Cheek by Jowl’s three-course set lunch ($38) that you will will find some of his most creative dishes – Venison with Fermented Plum and wasabi, the vegetarian Zucchini Flower with Sri Lankan mung beans and millet, and a Yoghurt Parfait with mandarin, yuzu kosho, and shiso.

The Black Swan
The glorious Art deco-style bistro The Black Swan might be one of the swankiest places in the CBD to hit up for a business lunch. Regardless of whether you choose the two ($39++) or three ($45++) course set, it’s worth noting that the hearty Black Swan Burger with mature cheddar and the Pan-Roasted Spatchcock are definitely worth visiting for. Stellar at 1-Altitude
Looking to entertain out-of-town business visitors? Stellar at 1-Altitude will give them an eyeful of Singapore. Think 3-course set lunches from $48++ with piquant dishes like the Duck Leg Confit with sucrine lettuce and mint vinaigrette and Risotto with pickled shimeji and pine nut custard. With wholesome food, generous portions, and an inviting atmosphere evocative of the 17th century Baroque Era, lunch at the rustic Bar-Roque Grill will be sure to revitalise any weary soul. Some of our favourites are the buttery soft Rotisserie Free Range Yellow Chicken and Ravioles with Wild Mushroom and Aged Gruyere, from $38++ for three courses.

You can never go wrong with one of the most esteemed Italian restaurants in town. Garibaldi’s Set Lunch ($39++ for three courses), which features delectable mains such as the Spaghetti “Chitarra” with Calamari in white wine sauce, Fregola Pasta with rucola pesto, and Grilled Swordfish Belly with Tiger Prawn. The elegant Zafferano rolls out traditional Italian cuisine with a touch of modernity in its Business Lunch Menu (from $42++). Expect sophisticated creations like the ‘Livorniese’ Style Poached and Oven-Baked Cod Fish and Turkey Roulade stuffed with foie gras blueberry, chestnuts, and sautéed cabbage. With an impressive list of accolades (including the Award of Exellence at G Awards 2017) to its name, your experience at JAAN is guaranteed to be of certain standard. Each menu is carefully thought out and reflects the vibrancy of each season, and their set lunches are no exception whether you go for the four-course ($88++) or the degustation five-course (from $128++) option. Dishes might include the Alaskan King Crab with pea panna cotta and caviar and the Organic Lamb with Bagna Cauda.

Probably one of the most iconic fine dining establishments in Singapore, Les Amis has for many moons been the place to hit up for a refined, quality lunchtime experience. If you’re a little pressed for time, head for the Lunch Menu Express ($90++), which can be completed in just 45 minutes. And of course, the three-course Le Menu Formule ($115++) will guarantee a decadent lunch (think Langoustines from Loctudy and Charcoal-grilled Bigorre Pork Loins) at a relatively affordable price. Another establishment dedicated to only the finest in gastronomy, we love Iggy’s for its ability to combine fresh ingredients and the most elegant flavours from the region and beyond. Cure your tired palate with dishes like Braised Oxtail Pappardelle spiked with winter black truffles and French Pigeon cooked with chestnuts and horseradish in their set lunches, priced at $85++ for three courses and $105++ for four.

Deemed one of the strongholds of Japanese fare in Singapore, Shiraishi is named after the famed founder Shinji Shiraishi and is known for offering the best in traditional Japanese cuisine. While a dinner here would normally set you back a couple of hundred, any of their 10 lunch sets – from $40++ for a Tempura Set to $90++ for the Edomae Special (15 kinds of sushi) is sure to leave you satisfied.
