Singapore, we’re really proud of you because you’ve set a new record for The Bar Awards’ public nominations system this year! Smashing Hong Kong’s first year high of 525 respondents, 1,005 of you made your voices heard with regards to the bar community in Singapore.

After the public nominations closed on 14 May 2017, the longlist of nominees was put in the careful hands of The Panel – 55 members of the local food and beverage scene – to rank their top five in each of the ten categories. While the next round of voting by The Panel is underway to determine the Top 4 of each category and the ultimate winners for 2017 to be announced at the awards party on 18 June 2017, here’s the shortlist of the top 10 contenders:

Besides a nifty little list for all your bar-hopping needs in Singapore, The Bar Awards are also flying bartenders – 2017 winners from Bangkok and 2016 winners from Hong Kong (the 2017 HK edition will be happening in August) – from the region in for guest shifts in the days leading up to the awards party on 18 June 2017. Expect to see Ann Pinsuda Pongprom and Jamie Rhind from The Bamboo Bar (Mandarin Oriental Bangkok), Chacha Singsuwan from The Rabbit Hole (Bangkok), Arkadiusz Rybak from Zuma Hong Kong, Sandeep Hathiramani from Stockton (Hong Kong), as well CK Cho from Coley (Kuala Lumpur).
