Run For Fun – 5 Runs in Singapore to Join Before the End of 2014

If you weren’t part of the recently concluded Colour Run but would love to join another 5K fun run (serious marathoners need not apply), here are 5 more runs in Singapore this year that we think could be really fun.

Wet N’ Wild Run

Fans of US game show Wipeout, this one’s for you. Featuring 12 giant obstacles like the Wrecking Ball, Wacky Wobble, and Ultimate Slider, and wet foam showers, the Wet N’ Wild Run promises to be, well, wet and wild. That’s not all, the organizers have managed get The Butter Factory resident DJs Andrew T and Dave Does down to end the event with a beach party!

Race Fee: $78 till 14 September, $88 thereafter

Run For Your Lives

If you ever want to find out how you’d fare in post-apocalyptic zombie-infested world, this is your chance. With pesky zombies after your life flags, this race is obstacle-ridden: test your agility in Laser Grid (remember that scene in Resident Evil?), get down and dirty in the Blood Pit, and prepare to be ambushed in The Smokehouse. Celebrate your survival at their Apocalypse Party post-run.

Race Fee: $89.90

Race The Dead

If you can’t make Run For Your Lives, there’s always Race The Dead, which is happening on Halloween night itself. Besides upping the ante on the scare factor with scare actors this year (on top of zombies trying to steal your life flags), participants can look forward to a partying it up with fellow runners at Zouk for free if you’re amongst the first 200 registrants. Plus, they’re issuing military LBVs (load bearing vests) instead of the typical runner’s tee so you can wear your funky costumes!

Race Fee: $65.90 till 15 September, $79.90 thereafter

Hello Kitty Run

In celebration of the famous feline’s (but is she really a cat?) 40th birthday, the inaugural Hello Kitty Run saw all pre-registration slots snapped up in less than 24 hours. But fret not, devotees – the organizers will be opening up more spaces during the full launch this week so be on high alert ’cause all participants of the 5K race will receive an exclusive tee and a commemorative Hello Kitty plushie.

Race Fee: $65 for pre-registrants, $70 from 8-14 September, $75 thereafter

More like a street party than a run, you’ll get to literally light up the night at Illumi Run, ’cause the illuminators will ensure you’re soaked with glow-in-the-dark paint Don’t worry, we’re told the water-based, non-toxic paint is specially imported from the United States and is completely washable from the skin. You’ll get to enjoy different genres of music in the different themed zones en route, and a bigass party with club DJs spinning at the finish line.
