Marquee Singapore: Marina Bay Sands and The Tao Group Shake Up Singapore’s Party Scene

If there’s a time to be out partying, make it this April, because MARQUEE Singapore is finally opening its doors at Marina Bay Sands! Launching the weekend of 12th and 13th April, the megaclub is a hotly anticipated addition to Singapore’s nightlife line-up, as the flagship brand by party purveyors Tao Group has made a name for itself on the party circuits of New York City, Las Vegas, and Sydney with its ability to draw big-name DJs and entertainers.
Don’t believe us? Their Grand Opening Month line-up reads like the who’s who of electronic music – English group Above & Beyond will be jetting in 19th April and electro house producer Steve Aoki on the 20th while Grammy-nominated American DJ Kaskade and Dutch duo Showtek will be playing on the 26th and 27 April respectively. But if you think it’s like any other bottle service club (bit boring, we know), there’s another think coming. For one, there’s plenty to do at this high-energy club, making it a musical wonderland ripe for exploration.
The key highlight of Marquee Singapore is its, fully operational eight-armed Ferris Wheel that’ll set a unique backdrop for photos on the ‘Gram and a one-of-a-kind view from its pods. If you’re thinking it’s going to be big to be able to house a Ferris Wheel, you’re right. At 2,300 square metres and spanning three levels, there’s a big top circus vibe to MARQUEE, which will be Singapore’s largest nighttime venue when it opens – not surprising since it’s taking over the space originally built as a theatre in the integrated resort. Adding to the carnivalesque atmosphere, The Tao Group has added a three-storey high slide to its plans, upping the ante on what already promises to be an extraordinary party experience.
For those whose main purpose is Marquee’s stellar line-up of internationally acclaimed DJs, don’t worry. There’s no skimping on what’s arguably the most important part of a fully immersive nightclub experience. The audio is taken care of by a state of the art Funktion One DJ console and sound system designed to fill the room across its dramatically high 30-metre ceilings.
