Dehesa

Dehesa New Restaurants Bars

A joint venture between Chef Jean-Philippe Patruno and the Good, Bad & Ugly Group, Dehesa is a restaurant that specializes in the art of nose-to-tail dining. This means that customers can expect to find all kinds of animal innards at this new petite 50-seater space, with intestines such as duck hearts, pig ears and ox tongues regular fixtures on the adventurous menu.

Whitegrass

Taking charge of this new epicurean destination is Chef-Owner Sam Aisbett, who was Head Chef at Peter Gilmore’s Quay in Sydney for nearly three years. Serving modern Australian cuisine in two tasting menus (sorry folks, no à la carte here), Whitegrass is backed by Penangites Sean and Karen H’ng, who also own Macalister Mansion in Penang.

Empress

Taking over the space that IndoChine used to occupy, EMPRESS by The Privé Group offers modern Chinese cuisine. The restaurant’s glimmering contemporary effect can clearly be seen in its simple yet plush décor, while its progressive-looking menu still has its fair share of traditional Cantonese elements.

Seorae Singapore

The Korean craze in Singapore is just about to get even hotter with the arrival of popular charcoal BBQ restaurant Seorae. Making its home in Plaza Singapura, Seorae will be bringing its signature galmaegisal (pork skirt meat) to our sunny shores, employing a unique cooking method that is typically conducted on a circular grill. Diners can also look forward to other Korean treats such as stews and bingsu.

Kai Garden

Cantonese food has always been popular in Singapore and Marina Square’s new 200-seater restaurant Kai Garden will be the latest purveyors of this cuisine. With acclaimed Executive Chef Fung Chi Keung (formerly of Paradise Group) at the helm, expect only the good stuff by this culinary maestro who has fed Chow Yun-Fat, Zhang Ziyi, and Jay Chou.

Naughty Nuri’s

Charred pork ribs, tender satay, delicious cocktails. Diners can expect all these mouth-watering treats and more at Naughty Nuri’s, which hails all the way from the sandy shores of Ubud, Bali. Another franchise brought on by the Massive Collective, this new Indonesian eatery gives us yet another reason to put that diet on hold.

Alati

Greek restaurants aren’t exactly easy to find in Singapore, so it’s just about time Alati turned up on Amoy Street. Only the freshest produce from the Aegean Sea is served here, and the menu features traditional Greek items such as Horiatiki ($22); a healthy mix of tomatoes, cucumbers and onions, and Mousaka ($26); a minced beef mixture with eggplant, potatoes and belchamel sauce.

ADHD

ADHD South Beach Hotel New Restaurants Bars

Standing for ‘All Day Hotel Dining’, ADHD is a cheeky new restaurant located at The South Beach Hotel. From breakfast to dinner, the proceedings at ADHD are dominated by an assortment of international delicacies, ranging from items like the Crispy Duckling Burgers ($20) to the Signature Chocolate Sphere ($12).

Gemmills

From the folks behind Maggie Joan’s comes an all-new drinking spot that’s set to be the go-to destination in the CBD. Inspired by the late 19th century banker John Gemmills, who once donated a drinking fountain to the public in 1864, this comfy watering hole will pride itself on quenching the people’s thirst with an impressive selection of wine and beer.

Kult Kafe

Both an art space and watering hole rolled into one, Kult Kafe is the brainchild of the dynamic and creative Kult Magazine, who for years have tirelessly promoted Singapore’s burgeoning arts scene and street culture. Located at Emily Hill, this trendy new hangout spot will feature a cocktail menu developed by Zac Mirza, and conventional spirits such as whisky, bourbon and gin.
