Event Details

The Lives of Women: How have women progressed in Singapore since independence?
Exhibition | 02 November 2019 – 19 January 2020
National Museum of Singapore, The Concourse, Level 1 | 10am – 7pm | Free admission

This exhibition is the second of the three-part series about the lives of women in Singapore. We present key facts and figures that show the progress, or lack of it, made by women in education, work, public life, and in society generally. These facts will be brought to life by referring to some of the 160 women in the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF).

The first exhibition, in 2018, explored the lives of women in pre-independence Singapore. The final exhibition in 2020 will look at what lies ahead.

The Lives of Women series of exhibitions is a collaboration between SWHF and the National Museum of Singapore.

About SWHF:
The Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame was launched in 2014 by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) to celebrate the achievements of women in Singapore, and to document and share the stories of these remarkable women. The aim is to inspire people, especially young Singaporeans, to aim high, to dare to dream, and to chart their own path in life.
