Car-Free Weekend: Our Telok Ayer Stories and #ThrowbackSaturday

With the aim of championing the community spirit and celebrating heritage, Car-Free Weekend proudly presents Our Telok Ayer Stories and #ThrowbackSaturday.

Happening from 29 to 31 March 2019, Our Telok Ayer Stories is a self-guided exploration of Singapore’s oldest streets. Curated by digital video publisher Our Grandfather Story, visitors can look forward to art installations and activities inspired by the district’s history, including a street party by Telok Ayer Arts Club, performances from local acts as well as a vintage market with a vinyl listening party on closed streets.

Over at the Civic District of the Central Business District, visitors will experience a blast from the past with #ThrowbackSaturday. The area will be transformed into an outdoor classroom as visitors revisit their school days with activities like History and PE Lessons. Challenge your friends with life sized kampung games and end off the evening at the School Assembly to watch a free screening of Mean Girls and School of Rock. As a bonus, visitors can enjoy 50% off local snacks at the Tuckshop if they come dressed in their school uniforms!
