It doesn’t matter if you love or hate the idea of having a Valentine’s Day celebration. The occasion is still reason enough for restaurants all across town to put on their best show, which kinda makes up for the commercialism, no? So here you go; check out these restaurants to visit on the 14th of February this year.

Go Luxe ($100 and up per person)

Stellar at 1-Altitude

With its panoramic views, classy ambience, and extravagant food offerings, Stellar at 1-Altitude is, well, simply stellar. Crafted by Executive Chef Christoper Millar, their Valentine’s Day menu includes a whole host of gastronomic delights like a Gamberi Prawn ‘Carbonara’ doused in parmesan cream and Kobe Rib Eye topped with porcini and rosemary jus. Drinks-wise, diners can help themselves to an array of Mediterranean-inspired cocktails and beautiful wines on top of a complimentary glass of Moët champagne.

Price: $200++ per pax. This dinner is available from 12th to 14th Feb. Window seats are priced at $240++ per pax on 14th Feb.

The phrase “spice up your love life” turns literal this Valentine’s Day, with David Thompson’s Long Chim prepping tongue-tingling Thai delicacies for diners, with items like Oysters with Sriracha river tamarind and chilli sauce, and a classic Green Curry of Chicken. Besides a complimentary glass of champagne, another plus point of having dinner at Long Chim comes in the form of a lucky draw; two couples stand a chance to walk away with a pair of Bangkok Airways tickets for a magical getaway to the paradisal island of Koh Samui, Thailand.

Morton’s The Steakhouse

One of the best steakhouses in Singapore, American restaurant Morton’s The Steakhouse makes an ideal venue for foodie couples on this special occasion. If you dislike set menus, you’ll be glad to know that diners get to choose from a select list of gastronomic treats to create their very own personalised three-course dinner. Drinking options include Morton’s exquisite list of expertly-made cocktails (the chocolate martini is divine) and premium wine labels.

ilLido at the Cliff

As far as romantic dates go, il Lido’s Valentine’s Day dinner is the stuff made of dreams. Overlooking the resplendent waters of the South China Sea, this elegant gem of a restaurant is both exclusive and exquisite at the same time. Plus, with its luxurious degustation menu containing dishes like Tagliolini Pasta with Scampi and Veal Tenderloin with Foie Gras, it’s pretty obvious that il Lido is an expert of fusing substance with style.

Price: $128++ per pax (14th Feb, 12pm to 2.30pm and 6pm to 9.30pm). This Valentine’s Day promo is also available on 12th and 13th for dinner ($118++ per pax).

Restaurant Ember

Specialising in blending the elements of contemporary European cuisine with Asian sensibilities, diners can definitely expect a splendid five-course dinner by Executive Chef Sufian Zain’s (formerly of Iggy’s and Waku Ghin) on 14th February. Inclusive of two glasses of prosecco, the menu features dishes like Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallop with asparagus and miso butter and Pan Grilled Quail on risotto with truffle sauce.

Blessed with an impressive view of Singapore’s cityscape, BayWatch@Jen is quite possibly the sexiest spot in Orchard for a great night out with your significant other. Their Valentine’s Day four-course set dinner goes in the direction of modern bistronomy, with delights such as Light Cream of Lobster with Tarragon and Roast Wagyu Beef Rib Eye on the menu. In addition, each person will receive a bottle of mini Moet and a small gift. If you’re looking to up the romance factor, they’ve also put together an awesome Valentine’s staycation package!

Though the folks at 5th Quarter are touting their dinner as an anti-Valentine’s Day celebration, we reckon it’s actually perfect for adventurous couples who also want to spice up their love life. Expect nothing but innovative cuisine at this whimsical restaurant, with items such as Duck Hearts, Horseradish and Egg included in an extensive 10-course menu. As for the liquor, go crazy with a one-for-one offer for a bottle of sparkling Noche y Dia Cava and a round of shots every hour.

Sofitel So’s gastro-bar Xperience is cranking up the heat this Valentine’s Day, with a list of unique, three-course set dinners that’ll definitely kindle the flames of romance between couples. Guests can look forward to exquisite menu offerings such as Chutoro Tuna Sashimi and Grilled King Prawn, while those looking to pop the question on this occasion can get a limited edition bottle of Sturia’s Valentine’s Day caviar, inscribed with “Will You Marry Me?”

Price: $85++ (14th Feb). Dinners on 12th and 13th Feb will cost $65++ and $128++ respectively.

To add cheekiness to this year’s Valentine’s Day, seafood bar Humback will be handing out a survey to its walk-in customers to determine how many oysters they should eat as an aphrodisiac. And as this year’s V Day celebrations will be falling on a Sunday, it might be a good time to reschedule those dinner plans and enjoy Humpback’s all-new boozy Sunday morning brunch. A great way to escape the crazy night-time crowds, we reckon.
