Every year, Public Garden brings together independent brands and businesses across Asia to showcase their wares in a very special Christmas edition. Apart from local brands, there will be vendors from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, including Capapie Store (Jakarta), WYL Jewellery (Brunei), and Thai studio Oraclay. With such a wide range of curators, you’ll be sure to find an array of gifts, from leather goods and customisable notebooks to custom fine jewellery. Everyone is bound to find something special either for yourself or your significant other.

Public Garden Christmas 2016 is happening on 10 to 11 and 17 to 18 December 2016 at F1 Pit Building, 1pm – 7pm daily.

The ground floor of Millenia Walk will be filled with handcrafted goods from local artists and designers for the month of December. Local accessories brand, Kollidea, will be one of the stalls that you can seek inspiration from for Christmas gifts. And for the early-planners, keep your eyes peeled for outfits for the upcoming Chinese New Year. Apart from selecting Christmas gifts for friends and family, there will be workshops conducted throughout different weekends of the month. To list a few: coffee brewing workshop by Jewel Coffee, Christmas wreath workshop by Flower Matters and even a leather crafting workshop by Goodgoods X Kilter Goods. Doing your Christmas shopping at Millenia Walk may even give you a chance to win a trip for 2 to Denmark with Singapore Airlines!

A weekend affair is happening at The Grandstand’s PasarBella! The Expats Fair is named as such due to the majority of the vendors being expats, but you can be sure that there’s something for everyone. In fact, this market has a reputation of having plenty of clothes and accessories for children, so do come down if you’re buying gifts for the younglings. Live music and busking performances will be happening to add to the festive atmosphere.

The Expat’s Weekender Fair is happening 9 to 11 Dec 2016 at The Grandstand, 200 Turf Club Road, 11am-7pm daily. 

The Handy-Craft Market by The Cathaycinema

For one weekend only, the ground floor of The Cathay will transform into a pop-up market themed around independent local labels. Look forward to merchants such as Ashley Summer, Inout Atelier and The Hunter’s Kitchenette, to name a few. Plus, there’ll be food vendors showing off their ‘Instagram-worthy’ food, like that raindrop cake that went viral and rainbow bagels to satisfy both eyes and taste buds. How about trying your hands at the Oak Terrarium Workshop or felted rose-making workshop (first-come-first-serve basis, register here)?

The seventh edition of Open Farm Community’s Social Market is back in time for the festive season, bringing with it an exciting catalogue of proudly Singaporean vendors, farmers and workshops. Get into the Christmas spirit with the children too by partaking in a host of workshops for the whole family. Do bring enough cash as the transactions are cash-only.

‘Unwrapped’ Christmas Pop-up Store at Miaja Gallery

Buying a gift for someone who’s all artsy fartsy? Miaja Gallery’s pop-up offers a fascinating collection of home linens, distinctive tableware products and even clothing that make you look like you’re a wearing a piece of art. Household names such as Maison Miaja, Yoshi Itu’, Blue Leaves and S. Miaja will be present at this annual public event. The best part is that even if you’re away this December, art-lovers may still visit this event in January.

Unwrapped is happening from 9 December 2016 to 14 Jan 2017 at Miaja Gallery, 190 Bukit Timah Road, 7pm-9pm.

The Yard’s Christmas Festivalthe-yard

The Yard is opening its doors to the public for its first-ever Christmas Festival! Apart from having a shopping-good-time, expect a stunning acrobatic performance, including gymnastics, trampolining and parkour displays. This shopping bonanza boasts more than 50 boutiques and brands like MATTER, BASE Athletica, Silk Flowers, Carrotsticks and Cravings. Starting early in the morning, the event will run all day with performances, food trucks, wine tastings and a lively atmosphere to keep the whole family entertained. Although there is an admission fee of $15 each (free for children under 2), it is a small price to pay for this special Christmas market experience.

For a Christmas market that is more central, the Makers’ Market is popping up next weekend at the Capitol Piazza and again during the Christmas weekend at SOTA. This market brand has been known to support local designers, so you can be sure that whatever you find here is unique and mostly made in Singapore.

Makers’ Market is happening on 9 to 10 December 2016 at Capitol Piazza, 13 Stamford Rd, and 23 to 24 December 2016 at SOTA, 1 Zubir Said Drive.
