Have some classic Italian fare with some modern flair at Grand Hyatt’s Pete Place, where the arrival of pizza chef Daniele heralds a refreshed menu. Featuring 25 brand new dishes added to the mix, feast on Arrancini alla Bolognese rice balls with black Angus Bolognese, Capelli d’angelo all’ Aragosta with Maine lobster and Truffle Pizza with black truffle, bal pasese, fontina, potatoes and arugula for a filling meal. If you’re famished on a Sunday, head down on for a brunch of hearty salads, antipasti, handmade pasta and pizza live stations, and top it off with free flow drinks.

A newly minted array of dishes at Prego means comforting pastas, seasonal mains and freshly baked pizzas at your fingertips when you visit the Fairmont Singapore restaurant. The finest produce in the skilful hands of chef de cuisine Antonio Facchinetti gives you crowd favourites to try such as Polpo alla Griglia ($28++, Char-grilled Octopus) and Cappellacci di Zucca con Ragu Bianco ($36++, Cappellacci in Butternut Pumpkin and White Bolognese Sauce). One of the first celebrity restaurants in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, chefs Mario Batali and Nancy Silverton’s Osteria Mozza is the place to have quality Italian cuisine with impeccable service. An explosion of flavour awaits at Etna, named for the active volcano located on the east coast of Sicily, where most of the restaurant’s produce hails. Taking on a contemporary approach towards Mediterranean-influenced dishes, try their Ciriole alla Norcina ($28; Homemade semolina pasta, mushrooms, homemade sausage and truffle paste) and Tonno Scottato alle Erbe ($ 36; Seared fresh yellowfin tuna loin breaded with herbs, broccoli flan and red onion) for a taste of the region, right in Singapore.

Tuscan food gets their time in the spotlight at Ristorante Pietrasanta, named for the renowned resort town home of owners Loris and Giuseppe Massimini. Tuck in to homemade goodness such as Tortelli di Salsiccia ($19.90; Tuscan hand-made ravioli filled with mome-made sausage in meat sauce) and Fettuccine con Salsiccia e Tartufo Nero ($27.90; hand-made fettuccine with hand-made pork sausage & black truffle), after downing an aperitivo at the start of your meal from their cocktail menu.

Located within a vintage colonial building, Buona Terra boasts an elegant ambience with classy Italian fare, headed by chef Denis Lucchi. Celebrating artisanal food in cuisine, take your pick of three or four-course create-your-own-menus, or a five-course degustation one for both lunch and dinner. Some options include Garden of Autumn (Fresh Porcini Mushroom stuffed with Ricotta cheese, diced porcini, white truffle soil) and Flying Squid (artichoke, squid ink and greek bottarga) – ask the chef for what’s cooking that day.

The latest spot in Italian restaurateur Beppe de Vito and Il Lido Group’s portfolio, Amò in Hong Kong Street gathers the culinary influences from all of Italy. The spacious eatery features some exquisite offerings from the pizza oven, such as Friarielli, Pancetta, Pumpkin, and Smoked Mozzarella ($28) and the Stracciatella, Prosciutto, Rucola, and Fig Vincotto ($29), created by chefs Federico Schiraldi and Mary Cirillo who spent two years in Puglia to perfect their pizza-making techniques.

Il Lido at the Cliff
The perfect spot for dates (and proposals!) atop a high hill in Sentosa, Il Lido at the Cliff in Sentosa’s Sofitel Resort & Spa remains a stalwart in the Italian culinary scene. Overlooking the forested surroundings of the resort, enjoy lunch or dinner within the classy dining room while sipping on a glass of Prosecco with your 24 Egg Yolk Tagliolini with Sea Urchins and Salmoriglio or Black Cod with Caramelized Celeriac and Lemon Capers. Walk up to the second floor of this newly-restored heritage shophouse to discover Braci, by the Singapore River in the heart of Boat Quay. Firing up fresh ingredients in their Josper oven and shichirin grill, the one-Michelin-star establishment’s best includes Roasted Pigeon with apple and crispy skin ($42) and Seabass with eggplant parmigiana and saffron sauce ($45). The place for the affluent craving Italian fare, Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar offers up some classy plates for you to try.
