5 Things to Do This Week: 20-26 April 2015

Despite us approaching the end of April, we’re definitely not approaching the end of the excitement that Singapore has been bringing. With the continuous flow of so many exhilarating events and amazing music acts, we understand it’s getting hard to keep up, so we’ve rounded up this week’s highlights right here, just for you.

The 39 Steps

As thrilling as an Alfred Hitchcock thriller and as ludicrous as Monty Python, it’s not hard to imagine as to why The 39 Steps is already a two-time Tony and Olivier Award winner. With a cast of over 100 characters, this fast-paced whodunit features the exploits of our handsome hero Richard Hannay, who has been falsely accused of murder. Whether you’re a theatre junkie or just a casual attendee, The 39 Steps is sure to grant you a marvelous night of theatrical magic.

The 39 Steps is running from Wednesday, 22 April to Sunday, 10 May at the Drama Centre Black Box.

TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL ft. DJ Victoria and Patrick Oliver

With the ability to spin anything from Deep House to Progressive and Commercial House to Trance, it’s no surprise that nascent DJ Victoria has been creating a storm within the local music scene. Having come a long way since she fell in love with mixing in California, Victoria has since perfomed alongside the legendary Sander Van Doorn, Seb Fontaine, and East & Young. Be captivated at Cloud Singapore this weekend, as her striking tunes are sure to provide a night of absolute rapture.

Tarts For A Purpose

Calling all animal-lovers for this one event of paw-sitivity! Hosted by Shiok SG in collaboration with TART & CO. and The Garden Slug, this weekend fundraiser will feature a pet-friendly café and a dog adoption drive. Tarts For A Purpose will be donating 50% of all proceeds to HOPE Dog Rescue, a group of volunteers who rescue and foster abandoned dogs on top of their full-time jobs. Definitely a good cause, we say, so come down and lend your support (and bring your furry friend while you’re at it)!

Tarts For A Purpose is taking place from Saturday, 25 April to Sunday, 26 April from 6pm onwards at The Garden Slug. Get your password for tickets from the Facebook Event Page. To purchase tickets, please click here.

When not travelling around Singapore searching for the best iced coffee, Stephanie can commonly be found checking out museums, waiting in long queues for bubble tea, and taking her two dogs out on walks.
