Substation Presents: En Bloc, or Buildings Must Die

Returning for yet another experimental arts series, Substation’s “En Bloc, or Buildings Must Die” discusses how Singapore is on the brink of losing its cultural markers and enclaves due to its ever-shifting cityscape.  Issues and policies in relation to this will be addressed through exhibitions, workshops, and panel discussions at this mini-festival. Apart from historical sentiment and architectural value, explore how the preservation of icons are linked, meaningfully, to our national identity are just as meaningful.

En Bloc, or Buildings Must Die will be happening at the Substation from 21 August – 23 September 2018. Admission is free (excludes admission to SAD parties). 

CÉ LA VI Presents: Russian DJ Trio Swanky Tunes

Get into the swing of things as Swanky Tunes gear you up for an awesome night of electronic chart-toppers at CÉ LA VI. Ranked #27 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs in 2016, the Russian DJ trio will be playing some of the most  sensational tracks of their careers including “Going Deeper”, “Out of Gravity”, and the hypnotic “Hear We Go”, featured in the Fast & Furious 6 movie soundtrack! Watch your evening unfold with the best views and grooves in town!

Swanky Tunes is performing at CÉ LA VI (Club Lounge) on Saturday, 25 August 2018 from 10pm to late. Cover charge is priced at $28 inclusive of a premium pour. 

Outta Hatha X National Gallery Singapore: Charity Yoga

Allow Meerly Wang, a yoga enthusiast who trained with the esteemed Trishaw Corley, to guide your poses and empower your minds through a Power Vinyasa Class at the National Gallery. Held in support of the migrant workers organization – Transient Workers Count Too (TWC2), you’ll be sure to leave Meerly’s class with a stronger mind and body as well as connections with others that are made worthwhile.

Late-Night Texting 2018

Opening its doors for the third year, Late-Night Texting is back as a special segment of the Singapore Night Festival featuring a creative space for young playwrights, poets, and actors. As nightfall approaches, head over to Waterloo Street to catch over 30 short plays and theatre collectives by emerging local talents who wish to bring their stories to life. Recharge with a hot brew at Coffee Bandit’s food truck, which will be parked in the area.

Late-Night Texting is happening from 24 – 25 August 2018 at Centre 42 from 7pm – 11pm. Admission is free.

90s Boom Boom Party + A Tinge of 00s

Strut your stuff and swing in the wind as you groove to your favourite nostalgic classics that still have you stuck on replay. Dedicated to the 90s and your favourites tunes of the 2000s, be shook from a blast from the past in this very special series of themed nights presented by HopHeads. Tickets are priced at $15 inclusive of a bottled beer or house mix.
