10 Questions with &ME, International DJ & Producer

One of the most lauded and sought after DJ/producers today, &ME has worked with a myriad of other producers, vocalists, and instrumentalists, as well as released music with major labels such as Kompakt and Saved Records. In anticipation of his upcoming gig at Kilo Lounge, Singapore on New Year’s Eve, the man of few words share his earliest memory of music and his favourite record store in Berlin in this edition of 10 Questions.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in a little village close to Hannover, Germany.

What’s the most fun thing you’ve done lately?

Binge-watching as many Netflix series as possible.

How would you describe yourself in 5 words?

You gotta ask my mom.

What’s your earliest memory of music?

Getting a Bravo Breakdance LP for Christmas

Did you ever anticipate success on this scale?

No, never. Actually, I never thought that i become a DJ & producer some day.

Do you have any pre-gig rituals?

Taking long naps.

Tell us your favourite record stores in Berlin.

It used to be Rotation but they’ve cut down on vinyl, so it’s OYE now.

For you, is the dancefloor a lonely place where you lose yourself in music or a communal place where you feel connected to everyone?

You can have both at the same time. Nobody is mad when you space out for a couple of hours.

Aside from the music you make, is there a genre in music that you would like to explore but haven’t gotten around to dive into it yet?

I am listening to all kind of stuff when it comes to music so I am good for now. I’ll probably have to “kraut” it up in the near feature.

Any New Year resolutions?

Spending more time at home.
