If you haven’t starting making plans for New Year’s Eve, now’s the time to start. We’ve done the legwork and come up with 10 awesome places – five buffets (some with free-flow bubbly) and five set menus – to savour the last meal of 2015.

Gut-Busting Buffet Spreads

Kwee Zeen

Overlooking the stunning South China Sea and sitting amidst lush tropical greenery, Kwee Zeen will be preparing a decadent spread in welcoming the New Year. In a setting reminiscent of elegant Parisian brasseries, the buffet restaurant is host to a whopping 16 different culinary stations. Stars of the smorgasbord include 32 types of cheeses, a gallery of foie gras, mouth-watering live seafood, and scrumptious handcrafted chocolate truffles. Plus, there’s an option for free-flow premium Taittinger Champagne for toasting when the clock strikes 12!

Coastes

Coastes will be throwing it’s own cracking beachfront countdown party to ring in 2016! Besides chowing down on grilled meat and seafood from their knock-out barbecue buffet, guests can expect live entertainment by one of Singapore’s most dynamic live bands, A List feat. Aaliah. The folks at Coastes are sweetening the deal with affordable drink promotions like $50 nett for a bucket of 5 bottles of Heineken, Piccini Memoro Vino Bianco Chardonnay at $55 nett per bottle, and Champagne Ruinart, ‘R’ de Ruinart Brut at just $98 nett per bottle.

Meat (and dessert) lovers, mezza9 at Grand Hyatt Singapore is probably the perfect dinner spot for you this New Year’s Eve. Satisfy every imaginable craving with their international gourmet offerings across theatre kitchens at one of the best buffet restaurants in Singapore. From roast suckling pig to Peking duck, Japanese beef short ribs to Black Angus flank steak with truffled mash potatoes, you’re truly spoiled for choice at mezza9. Seasonal Tastes

For a spectacular view of Marina Bay, Seasonal Tastes is the place to be this 31st December. Aside from the visual treat though, guests can also treat themselves to a lavish buffet well stocked with a splendid selection of crustaceans and premium meats at the Prime Butcher counter. Peking duck aficionados should definitely check out the Modern Peking Duck Station, where their chefs will be serving up scrumptious morsels of duck wrapped in freshly-made crepes.

The Line

Sporting one of the largest buffet spreads in Singapore with 16 theatre kitchens, The Line is a popular destination for all-you-cann-eat fans. For New Year’s Eve, their exceptional chefs have come up with a special line-up of bountiful seafood (think Alaskan king crab, Sri Lankan crab, oysters from Ireland, Australia, and France) and hearty meats like 48-Hour Slow Roasted Wagyu Beef Leg on top of the usual international offerings. Love sweets? You’ll be impressed by the dessert selection, which includes Banana Toffee Tart and Red Velvet Crumble.

Lawry’s The Prime Rib Singapore

Many of us have celebrated special occasions at Lawry’s The Prime Rib and there’s no better time to head back – or to try it for the first time – this New Year’s Eve. Diners can expect to start their feast with Calamansi Sashimi Lobster with Pear Sorbet and the Slow Cooked French Duck and Foie Gras Salad. On top of their Signature Roasted Prime Rib, main course options include Surf and Turf (US prime tenderloin & Cajun tiger prawn) and Ocean Symphony (Atlantic cod, Crab Salsa, & Fukuyama scallop).

Price: from $139++ per person, first seating 5pm-8pm and second seating at 8.15pm. Reservations confirmed before 15 December are entitled to a 10% discount.

The Black Swan

Enjoy the last meal of 2015 amidst 1920s glamour and old world charm at The Black Swan. Diners can count on a sophisticated set dinner (four courses for first seating and five courses for the second) featuring starters like Irish Oyster Amuse with soy caviar and Alaskan Snow Crab with beets and truffle, while the main course options include the Pan Roasted Barramundi with grilled asparagus and Veal Two Ways with noisette potatoes. Guests for the second seating will enjoy an extra course – the Seared Challans Duck with orange gel. For dessert, tuck into The Black Swan’s Champagne & Berries, featuring decadent white chocolate and berry compote with champagne ice cream.

Morton’s The Steakhouse

On the verge of celebrating 18 years in Singapore, this longstanding overseas outpost of the famed Chicago steakhouse is well-known for their hearty food portions. Be prepared to loosen those belt notches with their four-course festive menu – choose from appetisers like Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and Ahi Tuna Tower (or top up $8++ for their scrummy Ocean Platter), and main course options such as the hunky Center-cut Prime Ribeye and Chilean Sea Bass. Dessert-wise, we highly recommend the White Chocolate Bread Pudding; the accompanying bourbon caramel sauce is amazing!

JAAN

If you’re really looking to treat yourself before the year ends, make your New Year’s Eve dinner a 10-course degustation menu by Chef de Cuisine Kirk Westaway at JAAN, which also offers magnificent view of the city skyline. Start with moreish seafood entrées like Hand-Dived Scottish Scallop with uni and ikura as well as the Majestic Irish Oyster with artichoke and Oscietra caviar. More substantial courses like Cornish Wild Sea Bass with crayfish sauce and Roasted Challans Duck with Italian polenta will be making an appearance before Chef Kirk’s delectable Ivory Caramel.

The White Rabbit

Housed in a beautifully restored 1930s Ebenezer chapel, The White Rabbit has become a dining institution in Singapore. Celebrate the best of 2015 with their brand of refined contemporary European offerings like the Alaskan ‘Baidri’ Snow Crab with fried quinoa, Seared Hokkaido Scallop, and Wagyu Rump Cap. Those headed down for the second seating can look forward to another course of Seared Pigeon Breast with foie gras torchon but everyone will end on a sweet chocolaty note with the Valrhona Dulcey Bar with bourbon ice cream!
